OM Health
What is Orofacial Myology?
Orofacial Myology is the treatment of the muscles of the mouth, face and neck to improve muscle function and tone. Incorrect function of these muscles can affect how you breathe, speak, sleep, chew and swallow - all critical to your overall health.
Our individually designed treatment plans are tailored to get your muscles working as they should. We conduct an extensive examination and develop a safe and effective program just for you. You can think of us as your personal trainer from the neck up!
OM Health is Sydney’s leading practice in this field, and one of the first to be established in Australia. Owner Rochelle McPherson has over 25 years of relevant industry experience and has trained many other health professionals in this field.
How can we help?
Treatment involves short exercises that train your muscles, a bit like going to the gym and building up other muscles in your body. You’re involved in treatment every step of the way and we set goals together, checking in on progress regularly.
We treat clients of all ages to:
minimise relapse following orthodontic treatment
address sleep breathing disorders, including snoring and sleep apnoea
treat of facial, jaw and TMD (temporomandibular joint) pain
facilitate growth and development
improve nasal breathing, chewing and swallowing
improve appearance without surgery or injections (non-surgical facelift)
We even work with babies and toddlers, assessing their muscle tone for feeding, growth and development and thumb sucking habits.
You can trust us and our practitioners because we’ve led the way in this field since 2011. Rochelle’s expertise is sought out regularly by medical specialists, dentists and other health professionals who invite Rochelle to lecture in this field throughout Australia and internationally.
We’ve seen what our treatment can do for other patients and we love seeing the difference it can make to their day-to-day life. We’re committed to achieving that for you too.
